Housemates Are Turning Japanese
Having been woken by The Vapors' catchy 1980s song 'Turning
Japanese' this morning, the housemates would follow suit and
turn Japanese for the latest task.
For Big Brother has kitted the House out to look like a Japanese
apartment, complete with low tables, lantern-style lighting
and decorated room dividers.
For the task, the housemates either have to learn to speak
Japanese, take part in a chopstick challenge, attend karate
school or opt for a marathon karaoke session, where they'll
sing 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart' over 8000 times!
Big Brother has provided kimonos, karate outfits and face
make-up, which must be worn at all times until the task ends
on Wednesday. In the meantime, the group must continually
man the 'karaoke booth' and ensure that someone is belting-out
the Bonnie Tyler classic 24-hours-a-day. Arrghh!
And just in case the group manages to learn Japanese in a
matter of days – like those TV advertisements for CDs
say you can – the all-seeing entity has put a secret
message in the garden which translates to:
'If you stand on this spot on one leg and bark like a dog,
you will automatically win a luxury shopping budget for the
