Jade Goody To Appear On Big Brother India
Evidently desperate to revive her career, which was killed
stone dead by her own behaviour during Celebrity Big Brother
5, Jade Goody is set to appear on the Indian version of the
Jade originally became famous for being a harmless-but-dim
character during Big Brother 3 in 2002, and subsequently made
a very good living appearing on TV shows and in gossip magazines.
She also released her own perfume and published her autobiography
to add to the coffers.
Indeed, the former council estate girl quickly became a multi-millionaire,
even though she didn't have any talent as such. However, Jade
was labelled a racist bully after her atrocious behaviour
towards Shilpa Shetty when she returned to the Big Brother
House as a celebrity during CBB5 in January 2007.
As a result, the former dental nurse was kicked-out by fans
when she faced the Bollywood star at the 3rd Eviction of the
series, gaining 82% in the public vote. Jade's celebrity career
subsequently went straight down the pan and both the public
and the media wrote her off.
Now though, despite causing an International race row and
trying to patch things up with the country at the time, Jade
is back in India, probably in the hope that if she gains acceptance
from the Indian population, she can make a comeback here.
Of course, the 27-year-old will also receive a six-figure
sum for her troubles, allowing her to buy another couple of
flash motors, or perhaps put it towards another big house.
The absolutely galling thing about it is that Shilpa Shetty
is actually the Host of the series, and yet the producers
have seen fit to put Jade on the show, presumably in a bid
to boost ratings? Still, at least Shilpa snubbed Jade when
she arrived in the country last week.
About meeting-up with her nemesis again, Shilpa said, "Never
even in my wildest nightmare did I imagine that I would meet
Jade Goody again! To top it, Jade had changed her appearance
completely. I just could not recognise this scared, shaking
woman as the same person who'd taken me on for ten days, saying
things like 'Go back to your slums'".
We've already established in a Poll in the run-up to Big
Brother 9 that the majority of fans do not want to see the
disgraced reality star on TV again in the UK. However, let's
just hope that Jade doesn't embarrass the nation for a second
time while she's in India.
