Liam Breaks Down Over The News
Carole, Jonathan and Seany had just made their decision in
the Diary Room, and within 30 seconds Big Brother asked Carole
to stand-up and tell the group who they chose to receive the
(second) £100,000 Big Brother Prize fund.
After a short pause, a depressed-looking Carole matter-of-factly
stated that they had one minute to make a decision, and they
The group applauded the Lancaster lad, who just sat there
looking blank and quietly said, "Thanks". Frankly,
we were expecting plenty of gratitude and apologies because
he's so new to the game, but nothing. However, in his defence,
the poor lad was in shock.
As everyone congratulated and hugged the youngster it still
hadn't sunk in, and Charley waffled-on about he deserves the
money and should spend it on himself (well, he's not going
to spend it on you love).
And as realisation dawned, the 22-year-old began to cry uncontrollably,
so Gerry suggested that he might need some time to himself.
Fellow latecomer Brian tried to console him, saying, "Don't
worry about crying son".
Liam then walked away in a bid to gain his composure, wiping
tears away from his face with shaky hands. Nicky and Ziggy
led another round of applause, and Charley went over to Liam
and said, "You do what you want with that (money)".
We don't know if she was masking jealousy with this faux
happiness and encouragement, but the gobby jobseeker snatched
another cuddle and shouted, "One hundred big ones!"
even though Liam had asked for a minute with his thoughts.
Having got himself a drink of water, Liam heard Charley mention
God and, stumbling over his words, the concerned tree chopper
told the group, "Listen, whoa. I didn't want you to get
the impression that 'me family needs the money, 'cos we don't".
It was a humble reaction from a genuinely nice guy.
Well done Liam.
