John And Rachel Quit Task

John and Rachel have quit their section of the latest shopping task, which has incurred one fail for the group and lost them a potential £50 from the maximum shopping budget for next week.

For the endurance task, the pair were put together by Big Brother and required to spend 24 hours in a sparsely-decorated room with just two thrones to sit on.

However, it didn't take long for John to decide that he wouldn't be able to stick it out, so he left the room to consult Big Bro about the consequences of quitting. The 24-year-old didn't want to leave Rachel on her own though, so he returned to give it another go.

The Australian was concerned that Rachel might not last the duration and suggested jacking it in sooner-rather-than-later, and to be honest we don't blame him. After all, the pair weren't allowed to go to sleep and had to spend their time just sat on uncomfortable chairs.

Plus, John was getting fed-up of Rachel's incessant chatter, mocking her with a 'yap, yap' gesture as she visited the bathroom. Again, you can't really blame him, because Rachel admitted herself that she'll probably get evicted this week due to her motor mouth and inane waffle.

Okay, so the producers were trying to split John and Josie up, but why didn't they put Sam in with John so that they could get to know one another? Or even confine sworn-enemies Sam and Josie to the task room, which would have been infinitely more amusing?

When John and Rach visited the Diary Room after about 4 hours to inform Big Bro they were quitting, they were offered more money to stay. However, John later told his peers that he and Rachel would only have stayed if they'd been allowed to sleep when they wanted, and were given a break every two hours.

Some of the housemates were unimpressed by John James' lack of dedication, with Dave sniping: "Are you going to do anything for this task, or are you going to moan and complain all day?"

Both John and Rachel are facing eviction this week along with Dave, and the pair agreed that it didn't make sense for them to spend so much time isolated from everyone else on what could be one of their last few days in the game.
