Chatting to Caoimhe alone in the early hours, John James
brought-up Ben's knack for making humorous-but-cutting comments
about his peers.
Caoimhe said Ben had insinuated that newcomer Andrew has
a screw loose, and JJ recalled the toff's recent bitchy comments
about Mario, which came after the former mole talked of having
a (non-existent) six-pack stomach.
JJ wondered if Ben says these things out-of jealousy, and
then noted that he can be quite brutal. However, the pair
agreed that Ben has a very black kind-of humour, with the
Australian hunk saying: "Out (in the real world), I would
probably find it hilarious".
"Me too," replied Caoimhe, adding that she would
act the same way on the outside.
But JJ's hesitance was due to the fact that the posh broadcaster
had said something about Steve, which he thought was a bit
too close to the knuckle.
Some fans have welcomed the notion that someone might be
prepared to criticise Steve, because he's seen as a bit of
a Saint by the housemates, who seem to believe that he's the
bookmakers' favourite to win.
Admitedly, he was at the start, but the ex-army man is currently
ranked sixth-out-of-twelve according to the bookies'
Back to Ben, and Caoimhe said of the educated 30-year-old,
"I do find him caring and I like having intellectual
conversations," however John was on the fence over Ben's
truthful and sometimes insulting banter.
Then, as sure as eggs is eggs, a highly-predictable JJ started
talking about people game-playing, which, ironically, is something
Ben has criticised him for on several occasions.
