Sad news folks: the biggest cheese at Channel 4, David Abraham,
has gone on record to say that Big Brother will never return
to the channel once the current series has ended in September.
A decision was made to scrap the show last year so that Channel
4 can concentrate on new programming, but the latest Chief
Executive, who was appointed in January, has confirmed to
The Sun newspaper that there will be no reprieve.
When asked if he would rule out a Big Brother return, the
forty-something executive said: "I personally would".
This comes despite the fact that Big Brother 11 is receiving
better viewing figures than last summer's show, and interest
is expected to increase once the World Cup is over.
Fans are still hopeful that the format will be picked-up
by another TV Channel, and even if that doesn't happen straight
away, there are plenty of people who believe that it will
at some point in the future, after being rested.
On that note, seeing as you are obviously a fan of the show,
we urge you to add yourself to our mailing list and remain
on it when Big Brother 11 ends, so that we can keep you informed
of any relevant developments in the future.
