Weekly 'Horsey' Task Result
All the housemates had a lie-in until around midday today
and upon waking, they were hit with the news that they would
have just 3 minutes in which to complete the 'tacking-up'
part of this afternoon's task.
They were not happy at the news but were even less happy when
they were established that they were allowed 6mins 45s only
to complete the whole task, including the show jumping.
"It's less than a minute each," sussed Ray. "I
thought they'd give us like 10 minutes," remarked a concerned
Steph. "It is do-able. It's just a lot tougher than we
thought," concluded Gos, trying to remain positive.
When it came to taking the test this afternoon, Lisa complained
of illness and was excused from taking part. Oh, that old
chestnut, eh? Reminiscent of school PE-dodging, this was certainly
not going to ingratiate the newbie with her fellow housemates.
However, the rest of the group put their all into the task...
well they had to really, given that they'd gambled 100% of
their shopping budget!
As the horn sounded, Scott and Gos began fastening the saddle
and reigns on the dummy horse and within a minute, dedicated
'mounter' Nush had straddled the lifeless nag, meaning the
first part of the task was complete.
For the second part, Cameron was the first to giddy-up around
the gymkhana course, making constant horsy noises as he went.
Then it was the turn of Gos, Nush, Ray, Scott and Steph, who
rode the following foam steeds respectively: 'The Horse With
No Name' (oh, clever), 'Lock Stock', 'Kipper', 'Pogue Mahone
(Gaelic for: Kiss My A**e), 'Kevin' and 'Tatty'.
Some of the horses, notably Scott's ride 'Kevin', looked a
little bedraggled after the ordeal but we can confirm that
no horses fell at any of the fences and had to be put to sleep.
Although the group did later crash-out themselves due to exhaustion!
After completing the task the chuffed housemates went for
a lap of honour in anticipation of passing. And sure enough,
they did pass, making for a shopping budget of £123
instead of the possible zilch. Phew!
There was jubilation all-round, although it didn't stop Cam
from getting a dig in to Lisa by saying, "I think you
should have taken part in the task".
So, that's 3 tasks passed and 3 failed. As an extra little
reward for doing so well, Big Brother promised to provide
the group with a pork barbecue this evening.
