BBO/ Fans Outraged At Editing In Favour Of Rex

In nine years of covering Big Brother in the UK, we have never felt the need to write an article totally condemning Channel 4's editing of a particular highlights show... until now.

For we were outraged at the editing of last night's show (Thursday the 7th of August 2008), which showed the events from the previous day. We're particularly referring to the late-night Rex/ Nicole spat, which in real life went on for well over 30 minutes, but was condensed to just five for the highlights show.

Confused fans have already written to us in bemusement, saying that they stayed-up to watch the events on the live feed and subsequently told friends/ family to watch the highlights show in question, feeling that Rex had finally ruined his game with his mega-oppressive and controlling behaviour.

Indeed, he messed with Nicole's head on the night in question and made it difficult for her to get away from his mental barrage and also his grip. He even blamed the 19-year-old for keeping him in suspense while she saught solace in the Diary Room.

However, amazingly, the highlights show managed to infer that Nicole was to blame; that she wasn't listening to Rex and started the argument by laying near the divide sulking because she didn't get a takeaway.

Please read this article to see how it all started, and take it from us that our version is much more accurate, although it's impossible to convey just how atrocious Rex's behaviour was in writing.

Lastly, we accept that Nicole is a bit dull, wet and whiney, and we can easily see her quitting before the series ends, but in this instance she didn't get a fair deal. To us, Channel 4 blatantly edited the show to steer the story line away from any possible accusations of bullying on Rex's part.

Lastly, there's bias in everything you watch and read due to editing, and we know that Channel 4 have to tell a story to an extent. However, this time they've overstepped the mark and duped a hell of a lot of viewers who can't/ don't want to stay up until the early hours to watch the live feed.
