Eighth Nominations In Detail

The eighth round of nominations took place yesterday, but not everyone got to vote. As a new housemate, Nicole couldn't nominate (nor be nominated), neither could fellow Hellish Housemates Kat and Mikey, having failed to earn the right by not consuming all the brussel sprouts.

Darnell was also banned from nominating as a punishment for crossing the divide on Sunday night, and Head of House Rachel was automatically immune from nominations due to her status as leader. So, nine out-of the eleven housemates could be nominated, but only seven could actually vote.

Here's who they all nominated this week, along with their reasons why:

Dale - Mohamed & Darnell
Dale nominated Mohamed first because he doesn't bring anything to the House and has a bit of a temper. "He's survived three evictions... he's not funny, he's not entertaining and he's lazy, so why the f*** is he still in the House?" said Dale. About second nominee Darnell, Dale acknowledged that the pair had been speaking lately, but noted that the songwriter kicked-off over the changeover of Head of House before. "I completely disagree with how he spoke to people."

Lisa - Rex & Stuart
Rex was Lisa's first nominee, mainly because of the way he speaks to people. She also cited the fact that he continually says he's bored and is not enjoying being in the House, he goes on and on about his life outside, and still moans even though his girlfriend is in there with him. "There's no pleasing Rex," she concluded. About second nominee Stuart, Lisa nominated him because he is missing his daughter, then declared that the group needs enthusiastic and committed people now.

Mohamed - Stuart & Dale
About first nominee Stuart, Mo wasn't happy that the big guy had said the House is boring now, taking it as a slight on the remaining characters such as himself. "If you feel bored, the door's open for you: get the hell out of here," said Mo.

Rachel - Lisa & Stuart
Rachel nominated Lisa because she has been 'stirring' and hasn't handled living in the House well lately. About second nominee Stuart, she said, "I do feel he's been putting pressure on us to nominate him," before dubbing Stu 'selfish' and suggesting that if he really wanted to see his daughter he would forget all the talk about going on BBLB and just leave.

Rex - Dale & Stuart
Rex's reasons were not made public.

Sara - Mohamed & Dale
Even though she discussed nominating Dale and Stuart in the Pod with Rex earlier in the day, Sara nominated Mohamed again first. Her reasons were because Mo doesn't join-in much with group discussions and goes to bed early. "He doesn't really contribute that much compared to everyone else," added the PA. She reluctantly nominated Dale next because she knows that he wants to go, but then noted that Dale doesn't allow the girls to sing and moans about it all the time.

Stuart - Sara & Mikey
Stuart asked Big Brother if he could vote tactically in an attempt to try and avoid nominating people he thought would be 'up' anyway. So, Stu nominated Sara and Mikey, believing that they wouldn't get many nominations from their peers and therefore he would stand a better chance of facing eviction himself. This was all about the fact that he supposedly wants to go home to be reunited with his daughter.

So, Dale and Stuart's invitations to their peers to nominate them have either paid-off or backfired, depending on whether they really do want to go home or not!

The tally after the eighth round of nominations was: Stuart: 4, Dale: 3, Mohamed: 2, Darnell, Lisa, Mikey, Rex and Sara: 1 each.

As a result, there are two nominees this week, Dale and Stuart, who will face eviction at the 8th Eviction on Friday the 8th of August 2008.
