4th Evictee: It's Mario Marconi (Shaun Astbury)

According to Lisa, the Universe had called him to go, so Big Brother has duly obliged and kicked Mario out tonight!

While waiting for Davina's announcement, the BB beefcake was sat with Lisa on one side and Mikey on the other, while fellow nominee Rebecca was accompanied by Luke and Stuart.

When told the news, Mario pretended to cry and wore a slightly embarrassed smile, as Mikey put on a brave face and Lisa sat there beaming.

The soon-to-be-evicted 43-year-old received a hug from Lisa followed by some handshakes from the fellas, and then turned to Mikey and said, "What's up with ya' mate?"

It was classic David Brent (The Office), always fishing for a comment or thinking that people are bothered when they're not; Mikey had shown little emotion.

Hugs followed as a shocked Bex repeatedly cried 'Oh my God' in a shrill voice. "I'm so shocked," said the victorious nominee, prompting Mario to admit, "It is quite a shock isn't it, you know what I'm saying?"

It had finally hit the manager and facilitator that his fan club had let him down. Indeed, 77% of the voting public wanted Mario out, so – given that it was around 10% more than our poll – it rather looks like some of Rebecca's detractors just didn't bother voting.

When it came time to leave, there was a round of applause and hugs all-round, before the 4th Evictee made his way up the stairs to meet the crowd. However, at the top of the stairs Mario gave a thumbs-down, signalling to his peers that the crowd were baying for him.

And as the famous doors opened the throng of boos hit him, with Mario giving a mocking 'give it all you've got' gesture as he made his way down the steps to meet Davina. Waving continually, Mario quickly posed for the waiting Press and just one interview stood between the Widnes wally and the end of his Big Brother 9 experience.

Mario is survived by fellow nominee Rebecca and thirteen other housemates; that leaves seven guys and seven girls in the game.
