Fans Call For Stephanie's Return

The title of this article doesn't tell the whole story; fans have actually called for an investigation into Steph's eviction, and for her to be re-instated if it's found that there were problems with the voting.

For it seems that a number of fans had problems trying to vote for Mario on Friday night, either receiving a dead line or finding that the lines for him were closed up to 30 minutes early. The lines for the other housemates were fine.

Channel 4 have denied any problems, but disgruntled fans have reported the matter to Ofcom nevertheless, their reasoning being that although Steph received a huge 48% of the vote, had Mario's lines been working perfectly, her percentage would have been reduced.

Not that we're saying the lines definitely weren't working properly at this stage, but there was undoubtedly a swing in public opinion mid-week, and our restarted Poll – which ran for 48 hours up to the 1st Eviction – had Mario a good 10/11% ahead of Steph.

Also, Big Brother fans generally accept that the majority of people vote towards the end of the week, not when the nominees are announced at the beginning of the week.

About Steph's possible return, a show insider told the Daily Star: “We always take on board what the fans say, and despite being evicted, Steph was a big hit on the show. There seems to have been some kind of confusion with the voting, so maybe she deserves another chance, even if she just comes back as a surprise guest?”

In 2004, BB Australia contestant Bree Amer was evicted, but re-instated to the game shortly after when it was discovered that the votes were miscalculated. Whatsmore, the correct evictee got booted-out, so watch your back Mario!

Steph says that if she comes back she will chase after Rex, but frankly she would be mad to return, seeing as she spent just nine days in the game but has already earned the best part of £100k from media deals (Daily Star, Sunday Star and NUTS magazine).

Anyway, if you'd like to sign the petition calling for this matter to be investigated/ the return of Steph, click here. The petition started on Sunday and has gained well over 1000 signatures in just 24 hours.
