Housemates' Doubt Grows Over Fake Wedding

It's hardly the stuff of Mills & Boon, but here's a recap of the BB9 (fake) romance story so far:

Mario and Steph entered the House on Thursday night and got a fake relationship going within minutes, taking ten years off Mario's age to make it seem more realistic. However, the supposed-lovers didn't go near each other much on the first night, least of all snog.

The very next day, Big Bro announced that the couple were getting married after Mario spontaneously proposed to Steph. The pair were asked to fill-out marriage licence forms, which freaked Steph out, but her lack of genuine excitement and affection prompted calls that it's really a task (correct), or that Mario had done it to get magazine deals.

The group attended an engagement party in the evening, but Steph annoyed Mario by not helping with the ruse. Her dubbing him 'an idiot' wasn't exactly ideal behaviour, nor was Steph apparently saying that she couldn't stand fake-partner Mario just before he proposed. Oops!

Today, just 3-days-in to the new series, all the talk this morning has been about the couple's forthcoming wedding and whether it's real or not. There have even been threats from a number of housemates to challenge Big Brother over the matter.

It started today with Dennis telling Bex (who looked like she'd been dragged through a hedge backwards), "We were up until 3am discussing it; it's got to be a fake. I've never heard of anyone getting married that fast". He was referring to the fact that the couple had only just got engaged.

The pair then discussed how Mario and Steph hadn't really kissed since they arrived, nor had they slept together.

Dennis then moved-on to Darnell, sowing yet more seeds of doubt in the songwriter's mind. This prompted the albino housemate to go and grill Mario, who put the couple's lack of physical affection down to the fact that Steph is very shy. "Damn, why was your answer so good?!" said the music man, having failed to catch-out his beefy peer.

Later still, mouth-almighty Alexandra challenged Steph directly and asked her what she thought of the conspiracy theories. "I'm not bothered what you think," snapped Steph in response. Alex then inspected her engagement ring and said it looked really cheap, like something you'd buy from Elizabeth Duke.

So, the drama continues. It's a good job Alexandra is right though, or she could have been heading for a slap after her aggressive and rude comments!
