David And Kara Become Bona Fide Housemates
Late this afternoon, the time came for the eight longstanding
housemates (remember: Chanelle had just left) to decide which
two Halfway Housemates would join them permanently.
Over the past few days, Hostel dwellers Amy, David, Jonty,
Kara-Louise and Shanessa had visited the main House, first
one at a time, and then all-together during the party on Saturday
But which pair were likely to be chosen to make the move,
thereby becoming bona fide contestants?
Well, Amy was out, as although she made a good impression
on Liam, she was too bitchy for some and came across too desperate
Stripper Shanessa got her baps out early-on, which managed
to impress brainbox Brian. However, her God-awful lapdancing
turned virtually everyone else off. She was also a major suck-up
at the party, and so she failed to get the gig, so to speak.
Jonty, who is 36 years old but looks a good ten-or-fifteen
years older, was a bit too weird for many of the housemates.
He was even third on Gerry's wish list, Jonty's biggest fan
after his first visit on Saturday. That said, the museum assistant
very nearly made it across, as you'll see below.
That left David and Kara, the first being a proper lively
character and the latter being probably the most 'real' of
the five newbies, even though Shanessa had claimed that crown.
When asked to decide who they wanted as fellow housemates,
the group were given five minutes to choose, and decided to
put names into cups.
In choosing, Liam dubbed David a 'canny lad', Tracey liked
David's bubbly character, the Twins and Gerry favoured Kara
for her 'genuine' qualities and Brian went for the glamour
girl and the stripper... for reasons which had nothing to
do with aesthetics. Ahem!
Here's who they all chose:
Amanda - Kara and David
Sam - Kara and David
Brian - Shanessa and Amy
Tracey - Jonty and David
Carole - Shanessa and Jonty
Liam - David and Amy
Gerry - David and Kara
Ziggy - Jonty and David
So, David was a certainty with six votes, but because Jonty
and Kara were tied, the housemates voted again and eventually
chose the latter, mainly so that they'd have a boy and
a girl joining them.
Gerry stood-up and told Big Brother, "I'm happy to announce
the new housemates are Kara-Louise and David," who were
given 30-minutes to pack their bags.
The lucky pair would soon be making the move next door to
fight it out with their peers for the £100k prize money.
