Task Failed As Group Goes To Bed

Having been awake for around 37 hours and with a good 23 still to go, the group jacked-in the Sleep Depravation task and went straight to bed tonight.

Despite Laura and others wanting to quit this morning, the group battled-on for fear of ruining the Twins' birthday bash on Tuesday night. However, as midnight approached, the tiredness had taken it's toll.

After no less than three separate votes, it was decided that they should call it a day and get some kip; partly so that they can enjoy themselves at the aforementioned party, even if they get no booze.

During the group meeting, Jonathan pushed for people to put aside how they'd be perceived in quitting, and asked them to look into their hearts to see if they really could carry on.

"We have honour in quitting and we have honour in carrying on," said the 49-year-old, getting slightly annoyed with the fact that they weren't coming to a concrete decision. In the first vote there was a split decision, but the second was in favour of carrying on.

However, after some banter about how they should pool the meagre shopping budget and not split it if they quit, Charley was one of the first to buckle, admitting, "I'm being honest, I don't think I can do it. I feel knackered now".

Gerry said he was prepared to stay awake, but not to continue Policing others, and that was the beginning of the end; one more vote and they came to a majority decision: quit the task and get some much-needed shut-eye.

So, despite going for as long as they could sensibly manage, the task had been automatically failed and the group will now get a basic shopping budget for next week.

The fatigued fourteen readied themselves for bed, but not before they'd gathered all the food that Amanda ordered last week and stashed it in the bedroom.

However, looking at the Rules of the task, we're willing to bet £50 'quid that Big Bro takes it all back in the morning!
