'Sardines' Task: Didn't Go Swimmingly!
It's Day 14 and Big Bro put in-place a fishy plan this morning;
for the omnipresent one went and installed a giant stinking
sardine tin in the garden, and guess who had to get in? Yep,
welcome to the latest task folks!
For this shopping budget task, everyone had to don silver
undergarments covered by foam fishy costumes, and at least
ten out-of the twelve housemates had to remain in the tin
at all times, making sure they kept moving continuously.
This was an endurance task, however Big Brother didn't tell
the group how long they had to spend in the bits of dead fish
and brine.
Preparing themselves to take on the challenge, Charley said,
"Let's beat them at their own game," and a determined
Nicky added, "We are going to do this". Laura also
stated that she would be annoyed if anyone quit.
As they all donned their outfits – which featured swimming
caps, goggles and fins – the task got going and Carole
confirmed the smelly stuff was slippery as she entered the
tin. A near-tearful Chanelle made a big fuss about getting
into the stinky gunk, and Charley pulled a face as she stepped
in.
The Twins declared that they were both scared, but unless
a giant pelican was planning on swooping down, they had nothing
to worry about really!
As the makeshift sardines laid in their tin, there was plenty
of banter between the, er, shoal, with Ziggy telling everyone
that 'sticking it out' would be worth it, and Carole shouting,
"Who'd like a fish?" just like a market trader.
Chanelle looked like she was riding the Rollercoaster of
Death, but Gerry tried to lift everyone's spirits by launching
into a rendition of 'I Will Survive', which got everyone singing
along.
The odd Mexican Wave also helped pass the time, but unfortunately
they didn't pass enough of it; for the group gave-up after
less than an hour-and-a-half. It transpired, however, that
Big Bro wanted to them to sizzle in the sun for well over
4 hours. Cripes!
Upon hearing the news of their failure, an outraged Shab
snapped, "4 hours? Who's having laugh on that one? Oh,
come on".
So, it looks like it's chick peas for the time being, seeing
as they'll now receive a basic shopping budget for the coming
week.
Still, we expect Big Bro will provide them with sufficient
essential nutrients... sardines anyone? He he.
