Spiral (Or Should That Be Glen?) Has Been Sussed
Aisleyne and Mikey spent ages recently trying to guess Spiral's
real name, but Glyn and Richard have pretty-much cracked it
The trick the other day was to call-out loads of different
names and see if the Dublin DJ reacted, but today the approach
was to ask him outright.
"What's your real name?" asked Rich in the bedroom,
suggesting that it could be Henry. But Glyn was more on the
ball, shouting out, "Glen".
"What?" said Spiral in a 'I don't know what you're
talking about' way, before saying dismissively, "Er,
Glyn then revealed that when people call his name,
Spiral turns around. "Do I?" replied the 22-year-old,
before adding, "No, I don't? I've never noticed that".
The thing is, that was a total giveaway as even the most
amateur of psychologists would know that had Glen not been
his real name, he would have expanded on the point and challenged
the detective-like duo about their accusation.
He went-on to explain that the name Spiral comes from the
design of the slipmats on his DJ decks and not, as Jayne thought,
because he was some kind of mole.
The loudmouthed former housemate suggested that Spiral was
in cahoots with Big Bro to stir things up in the House, and
had been given that name as a nod to all the spirals in the
House this year.
But no, it's just a name that he decided to go by, possibly
because his own name isn't really 'showbiz' enough to be frank.
To demonstrate, say you've got Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Judge
Jules, Fatboy Slim and Danny Rampling all booked to DJ at
your venue, adding a certain 'Glen Coroner' to that list doesn't
really work, does it?
We don't think the aforementioned five have anything to worry
about though, seeing as DJ Spiral doesn't even know the correct
name for slipmats, something that all DJ's who mix on turntables
