During the established 'picking
on Ben' routine today, Dave told the toff that he would be
sacrificed in the next Man vs Machine challenge, and Steve
used army terminology to re-iterate the sentiment, telling
him that the group were planning to 'send him over the top'.
Then, having a dig at Ben's laziness, David asked former-soldier
Steve if he would have liked Ben backing him up in Northern
Ireland. To that, Ben said that he would have been trying
to broker a peaceful solution rather than fighting, but then
made the mistake of bringing-up World War II.
When the 30-year-old tried to talk about Hitler's plans,
Dave snapped: "Forget politics, the guy was full of demons".
This riled Caoimhe, who once again accused the Pontypool preacher
of bringing religion into every conversation, before storming
Dave left the room to challenge Caoimhe in the bedroom, meanwhile
Ben waffled-on about war, suggesting that every country should
look after its own people first.
Nathan didn't accept his views, and Steve got offended, telling
the educated broadcaster that his opinion was 'b*llocks' and
meant nothing, before going into a rant about how Ben had
insulted his Granddad's memory.
Ben later tried to offer the bomb blast victim a genuine
apology for offending him, which Steve said he accepted. However,
you got the feeling that he still thought ill of his posh
peer, and will almost certainly nominate him on Monday afternoon.
For the record, Steve has nominated Ben in two out-of the
four rounds so far, but Ben hasn't nominated him once.
