Coal To Be Kind
Not content with having the troops scrub-up a hundred pairs
of old boots today, taskmaster Big Brigadier has now got the
group painting lumps of coal!
For their latest assignment, a test of patience and discipline,
the Privates were provided with coal, paint, a tarpaulin,
gloves, buckets and stools.
As the Sergeants oversaw the proceedings, all six Privates
(yep, including Ahmed!) got stuck in to the task, which was
as pointless as the real army making its soldiers thoroughly
clean lumps of coal in years gone by.
The soldiers were to ensure that every piece of coal was completely
covered in the white paint, but were not allowed to just dip
them in, as cleverly suggested by lazy-boy Stu.
Still, maybe the troops will learn something from it... like,
erm, how to decorate fossil fuel. Handy skill for when they
leave the army, that. Ahem!
