Another Serious Statement

Allo, allo, allo, what's going on here then? The local fuzz have now issued a joint statement with Channel 4 regarding the events of Wednesday night.

Quite why it was even a Police matter is beyond us, as the house has it's own clutch of burly security guards who are more than capable of pulling apart a few rowdy Big Brother contestants.

However, it seems that a number of concerned viewers phoned the Hertfordshire bizzies on Wednesday night to complain about what they'd seen; it is the Constabulary's duty to follow it up.

So, here's the statement in full:

"Hertfordshire Constabulary have been in discussion with Channel 4 and Big Brother producer Endemol, since Thursday morning (17th June), after receiving a small number of public complaints about events in the Big Brother house on Wednesday night.

All parties have been seeking to agree a course of future action that keeps the events of Wednesday night in proper perspective, but which satisfies the public interest and ensures the welfare and safety of the housemates.

Hertfordshire Constabulary are happy with the steps that Channel 4 and Endemol have taken since Wednesday night to guarantee the safety of the housemates.

Working in close consultation with Hertfordshire Constabulary, Channel 4 and Endemol have now reviewed their procedures and all parties are confident this will prevent a repeat incident."

We're not quite sure how they have 'reviewed their procedures' as they've simply booted Emma out, but left the equally-if-not-more aggressive Jason in the house.

About that issue, please don't send us any more e-mail rants, as we have no sway over decisions such as those and we are not responsible. Please hassle Channel 4 directly!
