A 'Vain' Attempt To Define
Late this afternoon the housemates' topic of conversation
was vanity, with all involved expressing a very different
view on the meaning of the word.
Jon originally brought up the subject as they talked about
the Seven Deadly Sins, by saying, "I don't know that
I'm big on vanity".
"I don't spend a lot of time looking in the mirror and
I don't care about my appearance all that much", added
the frank Staines lad.
Tania then chipped-in with, "We all have an element
of vanity", before Steph declared, "I don't know
how you define vanity, but it's looking at yourself
the whole time".
Scott then offered his interpretation, which was that vanity
is when a person has a spot on their face but doesn't leave
the house for days.
"I know people who can't go out until they've put something
on to darken their eyebrows," agreed Steph.
And sticking with the make-up line of reasoning, Nush then
said that many people put make on because they feel that they
need to look better, through a lack of confidence,
The conversation continued-on with one different opinion
after another being expressed, resulting in the true definition
of the word 'vanity' becoming clouded and being confused with
arrogance and even narcissism.
And with Nush seemingly courting the cameras to move around
and watch her at times, she could certainly be considered
one of the vainest housemates, if not in relation to physical
