Name That Tune
The housemates have worn themselves out practising for this
week's task tonight, but just what is the tune that
they'll be ringing-out for Big Bro on Wednesday afternoon?
Jon originally thought that it was 'Three Blind Mice' or 'Frère
Jacques', but having listened to the rhythm we think that
he's definitely wrong.
Big Brother has today provided the group with a metronome
to help them keep time, even setting it at the required 63
beats per minute that the piece should be performed at.
However, this hasn't helped us to get the tune, mainly because
the housemates' spoken 'bings' in practice didn't represent
So, the BBO team spent rather more time than we'd care to
admit to tonight, listening to the housemates practicing and
trying to work out what they'll be performing in Big Bro's
An early suggestion was the hymn 'Oh Come All Ye Faithful',
but it was soon ruled-out due to it not matching the rhythm.
Then came the idea that it might be a nursery rhyme like 'Ba
Ba Blacksheep', but this idea quickly proved to be a complete
load of tosh!
All sorts of traditional and 'Broadway musical' type songs
were suggested, until someone came-up with what we thought
might be the clincher: 'We'll Meet Again'.
However, although it was undoubtedly a very apt song, unless
Jon had completely muffed-up the rhythm, it didn't match and
we were back to square one.
After much racking of brains and tearing-out of hair, we finally
settled on the traditional Oz number 'Waltzing Matilda', but
we still weren't convinced.
It'll probably turn out to be something like Mozart, or maybe
Big Bro is having a bit of a laugh and it's the Star Trek
theme tune or 'Food Glorious Food?!'
Whatever, we'll get to find out later today, when the housemates
perform for the first time with live bells.
